LET'S LEARN HOW TO INVEST IN STARTUPS.
It's OK to know nothing about angel investing.
50 years ago, women in Europe weren't even allowed to get a bank account without a man's consent!
Think of our grandmothers - our roles have changed so much, so fast. But there are still some important fields waiting to be seized. Angel investing is one of them.
The future is in the hands of those who act today. And startups are designing our society. Us women now have a responsibility: choosing the entrepreneurs we want to see building our tomorrow.

LEARN FROM THE COMMUNITY
JOIN FANTASTIC WORKSHOPS
Joining Madrinas means having access to a recurring dealflow of startups (men and women of course). It's an opportunity to get familiar with reading and analysing new companies. And as soon as you feel ready to invest, we will support you with the logistical side of things.
Madrinas is a community you can meet during workshops, special events and online. A dedicated mailing list and online chat allow all the madrinas to interact together. This ongoing conversation is very helpful to keep on learning from each other.
The Madrinas workshops provide theoretical background and processes for angel investing alongside practical case studies. Each time, Madrinas welcomes a co-host, a woman already investing in startups, to tell you more about her experience.

EDUCATION
LEADS TO ACTION
There isn't a shortage of women willing and eager to invest, it's just that there is no simple gateway into investing. Madrinas wants to bring women who are investment-ready to their destination, at the pace that suits them.
MORE WOMEN INVESTING
MEANS MORE POWERFUL WOMEN
Let's be honest: You could become richer by investing in startups, but it's super risky, and only one project out of ten might become profitable. Investing is about putting yourself at risk, having skin in the game with people you trust to get shit done. It's about sharing a common vision for society with the entrepreneurs you want to back. So, if something is important to you, maybe the reason to invest is simply putting your money where your mouth is. And that's what power is all about, the freedom to take action.
PEER-TO-PEER LEARNING
MAKES YOU GROW
Have you ever met a woman who invests in startups and who explained to you how she does it?
When you meet someone who shares your problems, someone you can identify with, then empathy blossoms. That creates deep understanding, leading to the will to help each other.
It's not us who said it, but a woman, Margaret Mead, the famous sociologist who went all around the world and dived into many different societies to analyse what creates deep change. She said: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." Madrinas is one of those groups!
A SMALL GROUP OF PEOPLE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD
MORE WOMEN INVESTING
MEANS MORE SOLUTIONS FOR WOMEN
Tajine Banane promotes freedom for breastfeeding mums. Fempo designs comfortable solutions for menstruation. ADA Tech School provides coding lessons for girls...
Who better than women to solve other womens' issues? Now imagine that the majority of them have to pitch their startups to men. Hence, most of them say 'Forget about fundraising.' But then, their potential is capped. Too bad.
YOU DESERVE TO KNOW ALL THE GOOD DEALS
Led by men or women, that is not the question: Madrinas teaches you how to analyse all the great opportunities from the network of The Family and its friends.
THERE ARE NO STUPID QUESTIONS ;)
How much money should I plan on investing?
There is no straight answer, it depends.
Usually, it’s advised to not spend more than 10% of your savings on risky investments. You can start by investing 5k per deal. To have a decent exposure, investing at least 4 times a year is what we’d recommend, so a minimum of 20k per year.
I know nothing about startups - can I still attend this workshop?
Yes - definitely :)
I do have some knowledge in investment and startups. Will this workshop still be useful for me?
Yes! First, because as an investor you are too often too alone. And also for the following reasons:
How many people come to your workshops?
We try to limit the number of Madrinas per workshop to a small group of people in order to keep conversations fluid. It’s usually 30 people.
How often is your workshop?
Our workshops happen on average once a month.
Each time we reinvent the program and guests ;)
You can join anytime, it's gonna be a new experience.
Do I have to attend all of your workshops?
As you wish!
